Soybean School: A To Do and Don’t Do List for Growing IP Beans

by

If you’re considering growing identity-preserved (IP) soybeans this year, you’re certainly not alone. Solid premiums combined with a surplus of winter-killed winter wheat fields has many farmers becoming IP-curious, some for the very first time.

In this episode of the Soybean School, Ontario field editor Bernard Tobin asks Tim Montague, procurement manager for Huron Commodities, for his top tips on growing IP soybeans. The devil is in the details for any contracted product, but Montague’s dos and don’ts lists also contains some great reminders for growing a top notch soybean crop. Bottom line: remember IP beans are a food-grade product and know your contract. Watch the video for more!
