Is there a yield ceiling on wheat? In this episode of the Wheat School we put that question to Phil Needham of Needham Ag Technologies. The answer to that question is not as simple as a blanket yes or no. With every field and every farmer being different, that question is best answered by the individual. Knowing the answer to that question involves knowing your land, fertility, and overall farming practices.
In crops like corn and canola, breeders continue to stretch the yield potential but in crops like wheat comparatively speaking the yields have not kept pace. Can this change or will it change? I posed these questions to Phil Needham.
