Some weeds are very easy to kill at lots of different stages of growth. Some weeds must be dealt with very early in the growing process. One of these weeds is the kochia weed. It is found in many parts of the US and Canada and it can become a major headache at harvest time if it reaches maturity. Other challenges if not controlled is the fact it is a great seed multiplier which has been showcased by its spread across a wide geography.
As Robert Klewchuk, Syngenta describes in this episode of the Wheat School, kochia has some unique physical characteristics that really make it difficult to control. If it is not taken care of early, it can grow to look more like a christmas tree than a weed.
